2010 Sheffield Awards

The Rotary Club of Americus is proud to host the Fourth Annual Sheffield Gala, to be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Windsor Hotel. This event is being held to honor present and past Sheffield Award winners from Rotary District 6900. The Sheffield Leadership Award is presented by the Rotary Club of Americus in honor of three Past District Governors – all from the same family and the Americus Rotary Club. It honors John West Sheffield, John W. Sheffield, and Langdon Sheffield, who have each served this Rotary District as District Governors. The award is presented to club presidents who exemplify extraordinary leadership traits and executed their responsibilities in an exceptional manner.
Beginning at 5:30 PM on Saturday evening, attendees will be treated to a cocktail hour, silent auction and beautiful meal including the Sheffield pinning ceremony. The Gala Silent Auction is expected to wow attendees. Items for auction include weekend getaways, framed art and prints, local services, gift baskets, and more. This fun and formal evening will continue after dinner with live music and dancing.
“We are excited that this has become a yearly affair, and anticipate that it will continue to bring many visiting Rotarians to Americus,” says Carey Harbuck, realtor with Johnston Realty and the Chair of the Gala event. Harbuck goes on to say, “Our Rotary Club is committed to serving this community, and through our annual Gala event, we will be able to contribute even more in Americus.”
